Typically, the spigot comes in multiple parts: the valve itself, a gasket, and a lock nut.
Make sure the spigot is disassembled so that you can mount it onto the kettle properly.
Insert the Spigot into the Kettle:
On the inside of the kettle, insert the threaded end of the spigot through the pre-drilled hole near the bottom.
If there's a silicone or rubber gasket, place it on the spigot before inserting it to ensure a good seal. Some spigots have a gasket for both the inside and outside of the kettle.
Attach the Lock Nut:
From the outside of the kettle, slide the washer or nut onto the spigot's threaded end.
Hand-tighten the nut to secure the spigot in place.
Tighten with Tools:
Use a wrench or pliers to snugly tighten the nut. Be careful not to over-tighten, as this could damage the gasket or cause leaks.
Test for Leaks:
Before using, fill the kettle with water and check for leaks around the spigot. If there are leaks, you may need to tighten the lock nut a bit more.
